International actor Leonardo DiCaprio paid tribute to distinguished director and longtime mentor Martin Scorsese after the premiere of Western crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France.

DiCaprio spoke during a press conference about the film, saying, "Martin was able to define himself as the only director of our time."

Speaking about the director's artistic partnership with international actor Robert De Niro, who also plays a pivotal role in the film, which is his eleventh collaboration with Scorsese, DiCaprio said, "The technical levels they were able to achieve together are very high, and their relationship helped me change. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone, the film tells a true story of greed and murder, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone playing homicide detectives that involve the killing of members of the Osage tribe in Oklahoma.

The film marks the seventh collaboration between DiCaprio and Scorsese, and the 156-minute film co-stars Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow and Academy Award-winning actor Brendan Fraser, with a budget of $200 million.
